I am truly grateful to receive this honour acknowledging my work in fostering creative talent and inspiring the revival of arts & crafts; both in my profession and in my role as chairwoman of the Design Academy Eindhoven, which is dedicated to the future of aid and artisans of the world through its Man and Humanity masters program. I accept this award with pleasure on behalf of my Heartware colleagues and the artisans we work with in India, Morocco and Benin; with hope for a future that will break further ground and see the arrival of a world village market promising us the unique. May our hunt for outsider design become a reality."
