An unprecedented year of high-profile events and exhibitions throughout New York City

Dear Reader:

Dutchdesignevents.com & Orange Alert Dutch Design were on a brief hiatus for a while, but in the interim many new exciting developments took place, and we hope that with this newsletter we can inform you about recent and upcoming Dutch design projects in New York.

Recent events...

For those of you who have not seen the wonderful exhibition "Groundswell: Constructing the Contemporary Landscape" at the Museum of Modern Art, you still have a chance until May 16. The exhibition presents 23 landscape-design projects that reclaim and transform urban spaces —many derelict and in need of rehabilitation— into public parks and gardens. It includes work by Adriaan Geuze, the principal and founder of the Rotterdam-based firm West8.

Five years ago VIVID in Rotterdam launched Designvormgeving.nl ("vormgeving" is the Dutch word for Design), a quintessential guide to the design world in The Netherlands. Today almost half of the visitors are international, so after 5 years they are presenting a new, global name: designws.com. Do visit the site, also to check out their daily diary of the Milan Furniture Fair.

Coming soon...
